German AV brand Loewe seems to be attracting those who crave a large-screen viewing experience with the launch of a 97-inch TV in its Stellar OLED TV lineup. Just like its smaller versions in the range, the all-new mammoth stands out with its brushed aluminium frame, which lends it a sleek yet modern look. The company’s largest TV also comes integrated with a significantly larger 300W soundbar (an upgrade from 200W in previous models) to provide theatre-like audio quality that matches its picture quality.
Interesting feature of the large TV is an integrated Loewe magic.light: a hidden LED light bar that creates a variety of animated lighting effects or emits a warm white glow to create an interesting ambience while you’re binge-watching. You can customize the lighting to any color of the rainbow spectrum and adjust brightness and saturation to suit your mood. If preferred, the lighting feature can also be turned off entirely.
As noted by Forbes, which has managed hands-on with the 97-inch Loewe Stellar TV, it does not use the premium micro lens array (MLA) OLED panel technology found in the smaller 55, 65, and 77-inch models. This is supposedly because 97-inch MLA OLED panels are not currently available to any TV manufacturer. It, however, uses a 4K WOLED panel (from LG Display) for perfect contrast, deeper blacks, and impressive brightness.
The TV utilizes unique materials like a display frame made of brushed aluminum featuring diamond-cut edges, a fine speaker grill made of acoustic fabric or spray-painted metal, and a display back panel made of either real concrete or aluminum. All the connections are neatly concealed with a smart cover, and the side AV tunnel system provides integrated cable management.
Built in Loewe’s headquarters in Kronah, Germany, the 97-inch TV delivers a native 4K resolution and is compatible with HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision IQ Precision Detail format, which automatically adjusts the picture as per ambient lighting and room condition. It works on the VIDAA operating system and supports a wide range of streaming services, including Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV+, as well as cloud gaming applications.
The 97-inch Loewe Stellar TV flaunts premium aesthetics with high-quality materials. It is designed to be mounted and comes with its built-in slim mount to install it flush against the wall (option for VESA screws is available as well). There is no word on the US release date or pricing yet, but it is slated to launch this July in the UK and Europe for a price tag of £29,999 (about $40,700).
