Focal has launched Diva Mezza Utopia – its newest high-end active floorstanding speaker designed for serious audio fans who want powerful, immersive sound in large rooms. It is larger, more powerful, and more expensive than the previously available Diva Utopia, featuring larger woofers for deeper bass and a cabinet designed for larger spaces.
The loudspeaker uses a 3-way design with a beryllium ‘M’-profile tweeter, a 6.5-inch ‘W’ cone mid-bass, and four 8-inch ‘W’ bass woofers in a push-push setup that delivers clear highs, rich midrange, and strong bass. Each speaker features 500W of amplification, split across three Class-AB amplifiers for treble, midrange, and bass, developed in collaboration with Naim Audio.
The speaker uses UWB (Ultra Wide Band) wireless technology for wireless audio transmission with no losses, compression, and imperceptible latency. The two loudspeakers connect wirelessly to transmit audio at 96kHz/24-bit resolution with no losses, no compression, and virtually no latency, while using the supplied cable increases the sample rate to 192kHz/24-bit.
The Diva Mezza Utopia features the Naim Pulse Platform for smooth wireless streaming and works well in a Focal & Naim setup. Furthermore, Focal’s ADAPT technology automatically tunes the sound to your room and preferences. You can control the speaker with an app, a remote, or voice commands. Connectivity options include AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, HDMI eARC, optical, and RCA inputs.

Beyond its impressive sound quality, the Diva Mezza Utopia stands out for its sophisticated and durable design crafted from premium materials and luxury finishes. The speaker features a high-density molded polymer body with structural reinforcement, optimized through finite element analysis. The front has a stylish red-and-black tweeter grille with a brushed aluminum ring, called the “signature watch,” while the sides are finished in ivory felt for an eco-friendly, elegant look.
There is also a curved heat sink on the back to maximize heat dissipation, while the injected aluminum base includes an escape ramp to promote smooth airflow. Casters are also integrated into the base for easily moving the speaker around the home. The Focal Diva Mezza Utopia is available in qualified stores in the Focal Powered by Naim network for a hefty price tag of $69,000.
