Portable ductless air conditioners offer a flexible way to cool different spaces without needing permanent installation. Fully ductless portable ACs are rare, but some brands are working on them. For example, EcoFlow WAVE 3 and Zero Breeze Mark 3 are models close to this category, though not completely ductless, as they also need an exhaust pipe. Morphy Richards also entered the market with the introduction of the S1 Pro ductless portable air conditioner last year. Now, the company is back with an upgraded version, the S1 Ultra, at IFA 2025, which offers five functions in a single unit, making it usable all year.
Powered by Fusion Max Tech, the S1 Ultra provides more comprehensive climate control options compared to the S1 Pro’s primary cooling and dehumidifier functions. It offers cooling, heating, humidifying, airflow, and ductless operation to let you use it for all year-round comfort. The S1 Ultra design is inspired by aircraft engines with elegant wood accents that represent a stylish upgrade from the earlier model.
As seen in the initial images, the Morphy Richards S1 Ultra ductless air conditioner closely resembles the existing model but introduces some notable updates. The color palette has shifted to elegant white and silver, complemented by sleek wooden accents. These design additions give it a refined look that blends well with modern furniture. The front of the unit now features a cleaner, more minimalist design, while the sides showcase a standard slatted pattern like ACs. The top fan appears larger while the lighting and responsive touch panel remain the same as the previous model.
The earlier Morphy Richards S1 Pro operates fully ductless by cooling the exhaust air internally using refrigerant and water stored in its built-in tank. This water absorbs heat from the exhaust air, lowering its temperature before releasing it back into the room. You must regularly fill the water tank to maintain this cooling effect and prevent the room from heating up. With the new S1 Ultra, we expect this core water-based cooling technology to remain unchanged, but hope for a larger water tank capacity to allow longer operation times, so that you can use it overnight.

Like the S1 Pro, the S1 Ultra is likely to cool the room while releasing some warm air back inside. The earlier model includes an optional exhaust pipe that improves cooling efficiency when attached. We anticipate the new model will continue to offer this feature, potentially with minor improvements, but significant changes in this aspect are not expected.
Apart from the S1 Ultra, Morphy Richards will showcase the upgraded Fusion Kettle and Toaster Set, Infusechill Flavored Ice, MixChill 3-in-1 Ice Maker, and Fully Automatic Espresso Machine at IFA 2025 under the theme “Innovate for Enlightening Progress”.
