If you’re a guitarist, chances are you love all your retro gadgetry. The amps, the foot pedals, knobs, and all the music software you toil with to perfect your tone and pitch. But with the advent of technology, that is bound to change. And change is coming in way of Lava Studio, just dropped by Lava Music through a Kickstarter campaign, which has so far raised over $1 million from close to 1800 backers and counting.
Lava Music is calling it the “world’s most advanced amp.” And that title is deserved of an all-on-one amplification device integrating an entire studio into one all-metal box with a 13-inch touchscreen to get it going. You will miss the tactile knobs here, but the display gives a very intuitive option to tap the tuner, control presets, access loops, just with a touch on the screen.

Taking away all the complexity and giving it to the user on a platter, literally, the Lava Studio features 30+ digitally modified classic amps built-in. And this isn’t just a gimmick. Much of this is powered by company’s lavaAI neural modeling system, ensuring precision and authenticity whether you’re tweaking pedal parameters or personalizing your overall sound. AI-driven neural modelling “achieves over 99% accuracy… highest precision at amp modeling on any standalone hardware,” Lava Music affirms.

Designed to lure the musicians away from their preferred brands and gear, Lava Studio is more than a modelling amp. It is also a practice and learning tool, provided within an elegant body you wouldn’t mind flaunting like your talent. The machined grille on the façade, for instance, hides behind it a capable speaker and a carbon fiber woofer with dual 2-inch tweeters. When the guitar is not plugged in, this can be used as a Bluetooth speaker with it support for a wide spectrum of streaming apps.

Just above the grille are the I/O ports and volume knobs for that one moment of tactile memory. On the top of the Lava Studio resides its folding touchscreen control panel. This is strategically placed so that the control interface is always at your arms reach whether you are using the amp on the desk at home or on its adjustable stand in the studio.

The amp boasts a built-in miniDAW and an impressive 800 MHz processing power, which is offered with array of 40+ effect modules and 8-slot sound chain flowing intuitively on the touchscreen display, where musicians can arrange parameters and signal chains without memorizing buttons and combinations, like they would with the traditional modelling amps. An interesting distinguisher still is the company’s AI system that also allows insolation of different instruments and vocals in a song; and provide option to record up to 8 tracks in a loop.

Lava Studio is taking step further to be a go to option for those beginning or just making their mark, offering an option of 100 different interactive sessions with world-class instructors in various genre. All this with a digitally envisioned all-in-one amplification alternative for professionals who should be able to reimagine music production workflows like never before. Lava Music is currently providing free course worth $150 with every prebooking of the Lava Studio through Kickstarter for an early bird price stating $750.
