Have you ever thought that an ordinary, everyday item could be turned into a potential Halloween décor? Well, if you haven’t, then this DIY Dollar Tree light-up mop ghost is likely to tickle your creative bug and inspire you to create one for yourself. This DIY Halloween craft is utterly festal and fun to make, plus, you can even add a witchy hat and give it a dash of personality.

If you hate time-consuming and expensive holiday crafts, the budget-friendly DIY Dollar Tree light-up mop ghost will suit your preferences perfectly well. This will illuminate the space in an eerie glow, while looking all cute and quirky sitting on the shelf day and night. The best thing is that it requires no sewing, cutting, or carving, just wholesome vibes and lots of fun.

The Navage Patch has created this incredibly effortless spooky season craft so you can do it yourself at home without any fuss. You only need six supplies and you are all set to bring this simple, ingenious idea to life. It is probably the easiest Halloween decoration craft you will find in 2025 and is a must-have. So get to work.

Materials Needed:

  • Dollar Tree vase or tall glass
  • Dollar Tree mop head
  • Dollar Tree tinsel witch hat or Dollar Tree witch hat headband
  • Black felt or fabric
  • Hot glue and glue gun
  • Fairy lights

Instructions for DIY Dollar Tree Light-up Mop Ghost

  • For the first step, put a lot of hot glue all over the plastic piece under the mop
  • Take the Dollar Tree vase and attach the part of the mop covered in glue to the glass vase. Press it firmly to the surface until it’s properly glued
  • Now, add some more glue around the top of the mop while letting its strands fall back down the vase
  • Take a witch hat and put the hat on the top of the mop. Just make sure it’s in place by pressing it firmly
  • It’s time to add eyes. You can cut two eyes from a piece of black felt and glue them onto the mop
  • For the final step, stick lights inside the vase and secure the battery with a tape

Note: Instead of a vase or tall glass, consider using a cloche, which will make it easier to insert lights inside and give a perfectly rounded shape to the head.

Once done, juts drop this endearing handmade prop on your mantel and shelf and let it work the magic. It’s just too adorable and a little frightening to ignore, a treasured spooky addition to your Halloween decoration. Happy crafting and happy Halloween!
