After revolutionizing gaming monitors with dual-mode capability last year, LG is ready to impress you with its new UltraGear evo premium line of gaming monitors, which will debut at CES 2026. The series is designed for high-resolution gaming, supporting a range of 5K-and-above monitors that span OLED, MiniLED, and ultra-wide formats. The lineup features three flagship models – 39GX950B, 27GM950B and 52G930B. All of them share the same high-resolution picture quality, enhanced by the on-device AI upscaling technology.

At the core of this lineup is an on-device AI solution that uplifts the picture quality without any GPU upgrades. This technology achieves 5K-class clarity and allows gamers to enjoy a wider range of content in high definition. Let’s check out the three monitors in line-up.

This 39-inch 5K2K OLED gaming monitor builds on the legacy of the GX9 series to provide better visual quality and immersive gameplay. With the new on-device AI solution, the monitor analyzes and enhances content in real time for the best 5K-class clarity. The process also involves incorporating AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound for even better visual and audio performance.

This monitor utilizes LG’s primary RGB Tandem OLED technology to deliver improved brightness, color accuracy, and lifelike colors. The Dual Mode feature allows you to switch between 165Hz at 5K2K resolution and 330Hz at WFHD, supported by an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time. This allows gamers to choose between visual fidelity and ultra-smooth play. Furthermore, the monitor has a pixel density of 142 PPI and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for detailed highlights and deep blacks.

The 1500R-curved 21:9 ultrawide display offers the height of a standard 32-inch screen but provides much more horizontal space with a 21:9 ratio, which lets you see more on the screen. LG says it is like having two screens in one, making it perfect for gaming, as well as multitasking.

The second gaming monitor is touted as the world’s first 5K MiniLED monitor that can solve blooming issues. By minimizing halo effects that commonly affect high-resolution MiniLED displays, the monitor offers enhanced optical clarity. Featuring 2,304 local dimming zones and a minimum gap between the panel and LED, the monitor delivers balanced brightness and contrast. The GM9 monitor also incorporates an on-device AI solution to enable 5K AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound to enhance image and audio in real time.

The monitor supports Dual Mode operation, which means you can switch between 165Hz at 5K resolution and 330Hz at QHD, paired with a fast 1ms (GtG) response time. With Certified VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and peak brightness of up to 1,250 nits, the display shows high-brightness scenes like intense flames and sharp flashes of light with optimal realism and deep blacks.

LG also unveiled the world’s largest 52-inch 5K2K 240Hz gaming monitor for those looking for large-screen entertainment. The monitor comes with a 240Hz refresh rate for consistent responsiveness and image fidelity.

This large screen has a vertical viewing height of a standard 42-inch 16:9 display and an expansive 12:9 panoramic view horizontally that provides a 33 percent wider workspace than a standard UHD monitor. Furthermore, the 1000R curvature makes the display immersive, while the VESA Display HDR 600 delivers vivid color and deep contrast.

Pricing and Availability

The latest LG UltraGear evo lineup with 5K AI upscaling technology is slated to be showcased at CES 2026. There are no official details about the pricing and availability yet. In addition to the new evo series, LG will also start selling the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B) monitor in global markets on the opening day of CES 2026.
