Smart weather stations are an underrated home accessory that never really blew up like robovacs and AI-powered appliances. However, this year at CES, SwitchBot aims to change that. The newly launched SwitchBot Weather Station comes with a 7.5-inch E-Ink display, which provides key household and weather data at a glance. With built-in sensors and AI weather briefings, it offers local weather information, such as indoor temperature and humidity, air quality, current conditions, and a six-day forecast.

Aside from offering weather data, the SwitchBot Weather Station offers calendar syncing and smart home automations. You never need to check your phone for weather updates, or forget your umbrella on a day with the possibility of rain. The new device with E-Ink display, offering glare- or distraction-free data, is designed to proudly live on a counter or at the entryway, making it easier for you to check for information before heading out.

At a time when LCD smart displays are intruding into every corner of our homes, SwitchBot E-Ink Weather Station seems to have taken a quieter approach with a calmer way to keep check on your environment. With this nifty little device, you get the basics like date and time, sunset and sunrise timings, along with more advanced elements like a snapshot of indoor conditions, including temperature and humidity, measured by the built-in sensors.

These details are displayed on the screen’s left side. In the center of the screen, you can check out the detailed weather data such as wind speed, direction, visibility, and air quality. The right side of the screen displays a six-day forecast to keep you apprised about upcoming weather conditions.

Moreover, the station can sync with multiple calendar platforms and activate automatic scene switches tied to time, weather, or environmental changes. Leveraging AI-powered tools, the Weather Station provides daily weather reports, including local insights and recommendations. To add a slice of personality to this unassuming device, it pairs daily weather updates with themed quotes.

It is a passive device designed for people who want quick, glanceable weather data before heading out of the house. While details about pricing and availability are yet to be revealed, the home-centric Weather Station makes for a sleek home addition for minimalists.
