Following the attention-grabbing debut of the PetPhone at IFA 2025, which GlocalMe called the world’s first smartphone designed for pets, the company is now at CES, this time focused on humans and not pets. GlocalMe has unveiled a new portable hotspot for frequent overseas travelers, remote workers, and adventurers who often find themselves without a network in the middle of nowhere.

Dubbed MeowGo G50 Max, this portable, SIM-free connectivity device combines 5G, Wi-Fi, and satellite connectivity in a single device. It is designed for uninterrupted internet supply, whether you’re soaring above the clouds, stranded on a foreign street without a roaming plan, or hiking in an unreliable network zone.

MeowGo G50 Max is powered by Qualcomm’s SM4490 processor and includes a 4,850mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. As a portable hotspot, almost the size of a regular smartphone, it supports Wi-Fi 6. It allows the connection to be shared with 16 devices at once. And if you like more stability on your stationary computer, you can also choose to connect it via USB.

In addition to Wi-Fi support, MeowGo G50 Max supports 5G cellular network and non-terrestrial network (NTN) satellite communication. It is designed to automatically switch between the three connectivity options (5G, Wi-Fi, and satellite) based on availability and performance. This is made possible with built-in HyperConn technology that continuously monitors user data traffic. When congestion is noticed on a network, the device automatically switches to the next best network.

According to information provided by GlocalMe, the device works in more than 200 countries with access to over 300 operators and offers 5G coverage in more than 80 countries. Where conditions allow, the company claims peak speed of up to 3.4Gbps on 5G networks is possible with the MeowGo G50 Max.

Besides the exceptional cellular connectivity, what makes this device ultra-reliable is its ability to fill in where the traditional network grid ceases. NTN integration on the MeowGo G50 Max allows travelers and outdoor users to have satellite internet connectivity in case of emergency.

I mentioned something about uninterrupted internet supply even when you’re soaring above the clouds, but didn’t detail how. For this, the portable hotspot device supports in-flight Wi-Fi using GlocalMe’s CloudSIM technology. According to the company, the device can connect to onboard networks during flights and then share that connection with your personal devices, allowing passengers to stay online even on a flight.

With all that convenience, of course, user security and data protection were concerns that came to my mind. Deeper research into its features list suggests that MeowGo G50 Max comes with a multi-layer firewall protection and end-to-end encryption across Wi-Fi, 5G, and satellite connections. There is no information about its price and availability schedule as of yet. We are going to update here as and when the information rolls out. Stay tuned.
