Outdoor cooking equipment brand Weber has re-imagined its iconic Performer charcoal grill lineup with improved engineering, sleek design updates, and optional smart technology for 2026. The star of the new collection is the 22cm Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Grill, which features an LCD Wi-Fi-enabled controller that regulates temperature by controlling airflow into the coals. The grill lets you reach, hold, and adjust cooking temperature, making it ideal for low-and-slow smoking or overnight cooks.
This smart BBQ grill has a built-in fan that regulates heat by automatically adjusting the amount of airflow blown into the coals. You just need to set up a target temperature, and the controller adjusts the built-in fan to maintain the grill at that level.
The Weber Performer Premium Smart Charcoal Grill is designed to work with a companion smartphone app that allows you to remotely monitor and control the grill. You can also get step-by-step cooking guidance and a huge library of recipes with the app. It also comes with Rapidfire Assist mode that uses the fan to stoke the coals for faster startup and preheating.
Each unit comprises a storage shelf, a side table, and a Weber Works side rail that fits snap-on accessories. The grill features a porcelain-enameled finish that is scratch- and rust-resistant, which means you have to worry less about its look for a longer period. There are also adjustable dampers for manual temperature control and an improved One-Touch cleaning system that makes ash removal quick and easy. It also includes two built-in probe ports to monitor food temperature and one food probe.

Weber says the hinged cooking grate can be flipped up on either side to add fuel, while the Tuck-Away lid holder provides a convenient place to nest the lid against the side of the bowl. The grill even includes two wheels along with two swivel, locking casters for easy mobility and stability.
The new 2026 Performer Charcoal Grill is available in a smart model for CAD$999 (about $720) or a base smart model for CAD$699 (about $500). The non-smart premium model will cost CAD$799 (about $580), and the base model for CAD$499 ($360). The base models will be available in spring 2026, while the premium models are slated to be available in summer 2026.
