Major global automakers have started exploring the RV industry and we have seen some great examples in recent times, including the solar-powered travel trailer from Honda and Hyundai’s Staria camper van concept with a pop-up roof. Now, Nissan has joined the trend with its conversion partner Eiffeland, who unveiled the Interstar as a campervan at CMT 2026. The company not only unveiled a camper van with a diesel engine, but also a fully electric Nissan Interstar-e variant.
These camper vans feature a two-tone, white and brown mustard color scheme on the exterior, while interior space boasts a rustic look for a homey feeling. Regardless of the engine, all campervan models feature a large bed with a slatted frame, mattress, and a sleeping area of approximately 1.90 x 1.60 meters (75 x 63 inches). The bed is placed higher up, which creates a large storage space underneath it for camping gear. There is also a pass-through door so you can store longer items, such as skis or surfboards.
The kitchen unit is located at the front of the vehicle, just behind the driver’s seat. It has a two-burner gas stove and a sink built into the countertop, and a compressor fridge placed alongside the drawers underneath. The dining area is placed in the middle of the van, which separates the bed and kitchen areas. It comes with two seats facing each other, along with a removable table, while the benches are fixed on both sides.
Eiffeland has put great attention into making the van’s interior design feel premium by using high-quality interior finishes. The maker has added plank-style panels on the ceiling, real wood on cabinets, windows, and walls, while gray furniture and fabric-covered walls add a warm, comfy essence to the interior space. The floor plan seems quite spacious, but one feature it misses is the bathroom, despite being 251 inches long.

These handcrafted camper vans offer a payload of up to 900 kilograms and nearly 2.6 cubic meters of storage space within a permissible total weight of 3.5 tons. All versions of the Nissan Interstar are equipped with a variety of safety systems, including an emergency braking assistant, a drowsiness warning system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a trailer stabilization system.
Eiffeland’s all-electric Interstar-e camper van comes with an 87-kWh battery that provides 254 miles (410 km) of estimated driving range. As noted by New Atlas, the diesel variant has a price tag of €83,590 (approx. US$98,900), while the Interstar-e Relax camper is around €86,790 ($102,675).
