Volkswagen Multivan is a popular model often used for camper conversions. Looking into its popularity among professional converters, the brand has debuted a new Multivan Camper base vehicle that enables conversion shops to lower van conversion time. It is basically an empty shell that can be transformed in a personalized way. Working with a genuine Volkswagen base with pre-installed elements will give builders an easier way to meet the precise demands. All this while the owners get original quality components from the brand.
Volkswagen lowers the van conversion time by offering a range of pre-installed options to personalize the model coming from the factory. This allows converters to start with a base that is as close as possible to the intended end product. Converters also have the option to include air conditioning, heated front seats, satellite navigation, and alloy wheel upgrades.
Just like its California camper, Volkswagen has added a pop-up roof to the new Multivan model, while an empty rear cabin without any seats or floor covering becomes a perfect canvas to be turned into a living area or storage spaces. It also comes fitted with two swivel seats for the driver and front passenger, plus twin sliding doors and a tailgate.

Modeled after the Multivan long wheelbase, the new Multivan Camper base model comes with an impressive 4,053 litres of capacity behind the two seats. The interior space measures 2,625mm in length, 1,665mm in width, and 1,312mm in height, which seems spacious enough to accommodate a wide range of equipment and conversion options for outdoor living.
Volkswagen is offering the base model with a choice of two engines: the 150PS TDI with DSG gearbox starts from £43,900 ($60,000), and the 240PS eHybrid DSG 4Motion starts at £50,725 ($68,628).
