Adventure enthusiasts heading to Overland Expo SoCal this weekend will get their first in-person look at one of the most fully equipped overland trailers to hit the U.S. market. California-based RV manufacturer Neo Camper is set to exhibit Terra 500 and Terra 700 during the event. “Each model is designed with a modular approach that prioritizes functionality and efficient use of space,” the company tells Homecrux.

Based on the spec sheet, Terra 500 seems to be a trimmed-down version of Terra 700. Terra 700 is a hard-sided overland trailer built for those who refuse to compromise between off-road capability and residential-level comfort. Measuring 22.45 feet long and 6.9 feet wide, the trailer’s dimensions are similar to those of any tiny house. “The trailer is constructed with insulated composite panels and an all-metal structure, and is engineered to handle a wide range of climates while remaining lightweight and easy to tow,” the makers inform us.

Tipping the scales at 5,666 lbs, it rides on an Australian independent suspension system with four-way adjustable dampers and dual airbag shock absorbers, hardware typically reserved for the most demanding expedition builds. The foundation comprises a heavy-duty steel chassis, aluminum frame, and sandwich panel construction, allowing the rig to handle difficult terrain.

For a trailer in its class, the kitchen and living amenities are equally noteworthy. Terra 700 features various slide-out options, each providing access to the outdoor kitchen, electric ceramic stove, and a 78-litre dual-compartment portable refrigerator. Other features include a bundled kit comprising two traction boards, a shovel, an axe, an air compressor, and a built-in dust-reduction system. The makers also offer a 270-degree awning and four manual outrigger stabilizers, which round out the outdoor setup. This is presumably an add-on option to the standard package of $59,800, at which the trailer retails.

Inside, the trailer features a fully functional kitchen with a 75-litre vertical refrigerator. Elsewhere is a 15W Macerating Toilet, a shower, and a sink. Another surprise addition is that of a fully automatic washer-dryer, which is still a rarity in the overland segment. Moving on, the trailer also includes a dinette positioned just ahead of that bedroom. While the manufacturer hasn’t explicitly stated it, we presume that the dinette, akin to Berg CX4, can be converted into a shorter single bed. Speaking of the bed, the trailer features a bedroom at the rear. The slide-out bedroom measures 70 by 79 inches and sleeps a couple with ease.

Terra 700 features an onboard integrated power system with off-grid capabilities, providing the essentials needed for extended outdoor travel. The trailer meets its power demand courtesy of an electrical system, which centres on an 800Ah lithium battery bank paired with 800 watts of rigid solar panels and a 3,000-watt pure sine wave inverter, ensuring off-grid capability without the constant hum of a generator.

Fresh water capacity reaches 84.5 gallons, supplemented by a tankless diesel water heater and a 1,500-watt roof-mounted heating and cooling air conditioner, making year-round, all-weather camping a genuine reality rather than a marketing promise. Neo Camper will showcase the respective model alongside Terra 500, alongside Pi Grill, a portable, battery-powered pellet grill and smoker, which we will cover in days to come.
