Flat-Pack Laundry Chair is Rotating Solution for Your Half-Worn Clothes

Until they reach the washing machine

I don’t know about you, but I have a chair at home that does nothing except pile up my clothes that are too clean to wash yet aren’t clean enough for the closet. Well, my mom is not happy about it. But then I came across a chair, and I knew it would save me. Meet the Laundry Chair, a piece of furniture that gives such clothes a place to live until they reach the washing machine.

The Laundry Chair is part chair and part hanger for half-worn clothes. The chair has a movable rail that swivels around the circular seat. The rail is mounted on a smooth, ball-bearing Lazy Susan on which the clothes hang. This way, the clothes don’t pile up on top of each other on the chair, but hang around it systematically, allowing the fabric to breathe, the wrinkles to straighten, and the smell to fade.

Developed by YouTuber Simone Giertz, the chair is completely functional while keeping half-worn clothes neatly organized and out of the way. Giertz first developed the Laundry Chair in 2024 as an experiment for YouTube.

People liked the concept and bombarded her with questions about where to buy the chair. Ultimately, she perfected the design and put the chair up for crowdfunding. I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said that the campaign is an immense hit on Kickstarter, where it has surpassed its goal by over 16 times.

The premise of the Laundry Chair is simple. It wants to organize your room a little bit more, so no more of ‘I’ll take care of these clothes later’ or ‘they aren’t that dirty and should pile up on the chair.’ Standing 36 inches high, the chair offers a practical solution to half-worn clothes, while keeping the seat reserved for what it was designed to do.

The Laundry Chair is made of solid hardwood frame that gives it strength and longevity. The upholstery is premium cotton with reinforced seams and a concealed cushion zipper for a neat look.

While the functionality is impressive, I was more intrigued by its flat-pack design. You can easily assemble and disassemble the Laundry Chair for transportation. Currently available in green color, Giertz says more options will arrive soon. It is currently seeking funds on Kickstarter, and you can back it for a Super Early Bird price of $879.
