Anyone who loves architecture cannot help but love Le Corbusier. The famous French-Swiss architectural designer and painter has many monumental designs to his name, including a handful of furniture pieces. One of the iconic architectures by Le Corbusier, the Villa de Mandrot, a seaside holiday home on the French Riviera, is now listed for sale at €2.4M (about $2.7 million), giving you a chance to own a true mid-century modern gem.

The 1931 Villa De Mandrot, also known as L’Artaude, was commissioned by Corbusier’s artist friend Hélène de Mandrot. The modernist home combines the modernity and vernacular of the Mediterranean architecture. Once a holiday home, the villa has been listed as a Historic Monument ever since, marked by stone, glass, and terracotta tiles.

For the uninitiated, Le Corbusier’s pioneering experiments with glass, steel, and concrete established him as one of the 20th century’s most influential architects. His fame and reverence are so wide that UNESCO added 17 of his projects to its World Heritage List in 2026.

Now, you have a chance to purchase the two-story residence by the late French-Swiss modernist in the South of France. This house is established on a 2,450-square-meter (0.6 acres) plot in the Provençal village of Le Pradet. The property is dotted with Mediterranean species, pine, lavender, cypress, and lemon trees. The villa spans 200 square meters (2100 square feet) over two levels in an L-shaped layout.

The main level includes a vast living area with a fireplace and access to the back of the house, a kitchen with a dining area, a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and another bedroom or office with a second bathroom. The garden level, which was the caretaker’s quarters, now includes a workshop, an open kitchen, and a shower room. There is also a cellar and a double garage.

The 95-year-old villa still retains the mid-century modern charm with which it was created. Le Corbusier blended his style with the local vernacular, using Var stone common in the region’s châteaux to create the L-shaped home with an integrated courtyard. With its oversized windows, multiple doors, and eclectic material palette, the home embodies Corbusier’s design ethos that even “the outdoors is also an indoors.”

The home remains what Corbusier intended: an exploration of local integration, affirming its connection to the local landscape and traditional construction methods. Now, this marvelous home is looking for a new steward.

The Villa De Mandrot by Le Corbusier is up for sale for €2.35 million with Architecture de Collection. If you can fork up $2.7 million, this iconic modernist villa in the South of France is waiting to be yours.
