It is now easier to grow plants at home due to several automatic hydroponic gardens available in the market. There are also some newer options like Plantaform smart indoor garden and Izestee desktop cultivator that can grow plants using fog spray, which is sometimes termed as fogponics or aeroponics. Bioloopa is another cool example of hydroponic tech that not only lets you grow plants in front of your eyes, but you can also create a visible micro-ecosystem complete with moss or live fish. It serves multiple purposes, enhancing the overall functionality and lifting up the aesthetics of the interiors.

Unlike hydroponic systems that keep the plant roots always submerged in water, Bioloopa keeps the roots in mid-air. The planter features a dual tank design: the upper transparent chamber is for roots to grow, while there is a separate water tank for the misting process. Having a separate water tank in the planter’s bottom makes maintenance easier, as you only need to clean the smaller dedicated tank. The tabletop planter uses ultrasonic atomization technology to deliver moisture to plant roots. There are three misting modes, including Continuous Mist for high-water plants and two other modes that turn on and off in specific intervals.

The transparent micro-ecosystem chamber is inspired by volcanic landscapes. The maker says, this space is ideal for housing small ornamental fish or turtles, or cultivating moss, ferns, and miniature ecosystems. This simply means you can use it as a tabletop aquarium, complete with temperature sensors that help you maintain water at two heating modes at 30°C and 40°C. The built-in ambient lighting further adds a decorative touch to the ecosystem.

This fogponic planter has an onboard display and buttons to control all the features like water level detection, temperature monitoring, and low-water alerts. It also comes with a detachable full-spectrum LED grow light with three brightness levels to meet the different needs of plants.

Each planter comes with a multi-hole seed tray that works with modular planting cups and supports a wide variety of plants, including ornamental flowers, herbs, and vegetables. What makes it more useful and pleasing is that the planter can also be placed as a minimalist lamp on your desk, showcasing your love for Mother Nature.

If you are already interested in the refreshing idea of the Bioloopa planter, it is currently seeking funds on Kickstarter. You can pre-order one unit for a price of $89, with delivery slated for June 2026.
