There is no denying that the RV market is steadily embracing electric camper vans, but there are still limited options. Kia PV5 has quickly emerged as a great option for van conversions with its modular interior layout. We have already seen examples like VanLab’s camper kits for quick conversions available in South Korea, and now Sussex Campervans has finally revealed a working prototype built on the same platform. This camper van comes with a side kitchen and a rock-and-roll bed to meet your needs on the road.
As described in the launch video, the camper van has been designed with feedback from people and includes all features of a standard Sussex campervan. The first thing to notice is the abundance of wooden elements, complemented by white trim inside.
The kitchen looks really spacious and features a large stainless-steel sink, two induction hobs, an under-counter microwave, a 50-liter fridge, and plenty of cabinets for storage. It comes with overhead cabinets featuring drop-down doors that serve as counter space. It even has a curved cabinet that offers easy access. The kitchen is strategically placed so it can also be used from the outside, which makes it more useful for outdoor living.
The van is designed as a fully electric model, so no gas-powered solution is included. All power needs are met with an onboard 71.2kWh battery or you can hook up it on a campsite. There is also an onboard LFP leisure battery to power all the 12-V equipment, including interior lights. Owing to the van’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, it can power appliances such as hobs and microwaves from its battery, according to New Atlas.
The seating area turns into a bed in seconds: you need to pull down the backrest, which folds flat. In the morning, do the opposite to create a two-sided seating area again. The seating also includes space for a toilet or other things underneath, as well as on the rear side. Every nook of the van has been creatively utilized for storage spaces, including a shoe cupboard.

Another cool highlight is the pop-up roof, which does not create additional sleeping space but increases the standing room inside the van. The van is already known for its great range, with a 430-mile (693-km) trip on a single charge, making it great for extended trips.
The new camper van is available for a base price of £68,995 (approx. US$93,350) through Sussex Campervans. It has a WLTP-rated range of 258 miles (415 km) and supports fast charging, reaching 10 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
