Dyson appears to be expanding its presence in the premium home appliance and beauty markets with a growing focus on personal care and AI-powered automation. After raising the bar in floor cleaning segment with its AI-driven Spot+Scrub vacuum cleaner, the company is now bringing smart technology to air purification with the new Find+Follow Purifier Cool. Its standout feature is AI-based human detection that allows the purifier to follow a user’s movement and direct purified cool air where it is needed the most. This not only reduces manual adjustment but also helps avoid wasting energy on empty spaces.
Dyson’s new Find+Follow air projection system uses a built-in camera and 17-point user detection technology to recognize human movement and adjust its position accordingly. It also auto-adjusts oscillation up to 350-degree when there’s more than one person in the room to precisely sharing purified air between them.
Furthermore, the Find+Follow system automatically detects when you leave the room and stops oscillating while reactivating again when you return. If you don’t return after an hour, the purifier enters Auto mode to save energy. You can also switch off the Find+Follow air projection feature and use oscillation alone.
The onboard AI-powered camera system raises privacy concerns but Dyson says, the system never identifies anyone and only detects presence while images are processed within the machine and deleted after use.
As of purification capabilities, this machine delivers whole-room air purification, up to 27-square-meter high-velocity airflow. The air purifier combines a fully sealed HEPA H13 filter, K-Carbon filter, and permanent SCO filter to capture 99.95-percent of pollutants, remove odors and harmful gases, and permanently destroy formaldehyde. It can also serve as a fan, which projects over 290 liters per second of powerful cooling airflow.

The integrated sensors constantly analyze the air around you and cross-check pollution data. It diagnoses the air at a molecular level for displaying live results on the LCD screen and the companion mobile app. You can also receive alerts, set schedules and view your air quality history via the app. The machine also comes with a remote control that gives you access to features like fan speed, motion tracking and more.
The air purifier also connects with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and other Matter-compatible platforms for a smart home setup. Another highlight is the Sleep Mode that is touted 50-percent quieter than maximum airflow and dims the LCD screen for minimize disturbance. You can use the sleep timer to choose the timing to turn it on or off.
As reported by Tom’s Guide, the Dyson Purifier Cool is currently available in the U.K. for £549 (about $740) through Dyson’s official website, while U.S. customers will have to wait until early June, when it is expected to launch at $849.
