NYCxDESIGN Festival serves as a highly popular platform with many exhibits, trade shows, talks, and tours to draw design enthusiasts from around the globe. For its 14th edition under the theme “Design Connects Us,” the celebration covered more than 200 events. The main idea was to focus on the power of design to unite different communities and their design ideas.
The 2026 edition felt broader than ever, but you do not need to explore the entire event to find design and furniture trends. To offer you the highlights, we have compiled a list of the standout product showcases from NYCxDESIGN 2026 that will surely capture your attention.
Double Tee Table
The Double Tee Table Collection, designed by Miami-based architecture studio STRANG and handcrafted by MANOS, uses concrete as its primary structural and aesthetic material, but in a playful way. Inspired by the bold structural expressionism embraced by the iconic Florida architect, Gene Leedy, the collection represents a physical dialogue between the two firms. The design transforms the double tee beam from modern architecture into a designer object for the home.
Bosque Coffee Table
The Bosque table by Lawson-Fenning relates more to interior architecture and stands out for its customizable top. You can choose between inset leather, solid wood, or natural stone. Inspired by the Japanese Metabolists, the table features a grounded profile balanced by rounded geometries. Alongside the main collection, Lawson-Fenning is also releasing a limited series of side tables featuring a hand-painted ceramic top by New York ceramic artist Bruno Grizzo.
SOM79 chair
Ikonstudio made its debut at the 2026 NYCxDesign Festival with Charles Pfister’s historic SOM79 chair in collaboration with Rarify. The chair features a cantilever steel frame that supports the seat without back legs. For the reissue, the frame has been re-engineered with trivalent chrome plating to provide a high-gloss look. The SOM79 chair is available to purchase via Rarify for $1,350.
Svila Collection
Ana Kraš debuted her Svila collection featuring silk-covered tables at the Emma Scully Gallery during NYCxDesign. The collection leverages semi-translucent, refractive qualities of silk, in combination with timber, glass, and metal. Material contrast is a defining element of the Svila collection.
Post Collection
Los Angeles-based designer Sam Klemick has teamed up with RAD Furniture for the Post furniture collection. The design attaches plush upholstered fabric elements directly onto a sleek steel frame. The main idea is to create a soft metal chair that ensures utmost comfort. These furniture pieces are available in a variety of vibrant color palettes.

500 Series Outdoor Furniture
The 500 Series by SUN SET Studio is a weather-resistant outdoor furniture line made by New York design studio Wentrcek Zebulon. Debuting as part of the 2026 NYCxDesign, the collection features marine-grade fiberglass and unique quick-dry upholstery derived from quartz sand. Glossy gelcoat shells, quick-dry cushions, and sculptural silhouettes make these pieces better suited for outdoor use.
Kristen Wentrcek, founder of SUN SET Studio, told Homecrux, “The 500 Series started with the idea that outdoor furniture could feel as designed and permanent as the best indoor classics, but built for weather, wet towels, long afternoons, and real use. We approached comfort through deep, generous forms, and longevity through marine-grade fiberglass, glossy gelcoat finishes, and quick-dry upholstered cushions.”
Ardora Living Algae Lamp
The biggest crowd-puller at the 2026 NYCxDESIGN has been the SHINE lighting exhibition, where Lolo Ostia has showcased her Ardora bioluminescent algae lamp. Rather than using electricity, the lamp uses ocean-powered bioluminescence, and its base is made from seaweed collected from the beach. When disturbed by movement or touch, these microscopic ocean organisms emit a mesmerizing blue glow in the glass orb.
She told Homecrux, “Ardora proposes a genuine shift in how humans and the natural world coexist — reimagining light through bioluminescent algae. Rooted in my ongoing research treating living materials as collaborators, not resources, this work moves beyond utility. It is designed in tune with the larger living ecosystem we all belong to.”
Paper Table Lamp
Brooklyn-based designer Dan McMahon has showcased its paper table lamp at the Paraphernalia group exhibition, dusting the 2026 NYCxDesign Festival. These innovative table lamps combine artistic expression with practical lighting. The paper shade features a unique mushroom-like shape with dried flowers adding an organic charm to the design. McMahon creates the lamp by spraying paper pulp onto a premade form, which is then dried to create the lampshade.
Pleat Lamp Collection
At the 2026 NYCxDESIGN festival, lighting manufacturer Stickbulb made waves by debuting a new lamp collection made from salvaged urban wood and Kozo Japanese paper. These lamps feature thin wooden elements milled from salvaged oak. The angled wooden frames are inset with gentle bands of glowing light, seen through the organic texture of hand-folded Kozo paper.
Incastri Collection
The Incastri Collection by Gessi is a luxury bathroom line designed in collaboration with the world-renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The collection reflects a dialogue between Gessi’s design culture and Japanese craftsmanship, expressed through a refined balance of light and material. Traditional Japanese techniques such as “Chidori”, the art of interlocking joints without nails, and “Yakisugi”, the ancient practice of wood charring, are reinterpreted through Gessi’s contemporary design approach.
