Sound and light both create elevated aesthetics and vibes. These factors meet via Technics x Fritz Hansen collaboration in the Sound Club exhibition at the 3daysofdesign, Copenhagen. The collaboration focuses on showcasing how light and sound effortlessly shape our surroundings. Finished in a matte deep burgundy (oxblood) colorway, the turntable and lamps are limited-edition designs and will be made available in October 2026.

The luminaire is the Kaiser Idell lamp that traces its roots back to Christian Dell’s 1935 Bauhaus design, which has become a cult classic. The 6631-T Luxus features the signature asymmetrical crescent-shaped connecting rod with a flat, dome shade and a brass base that develops patina over time while the red matte finish ages gracefully. Paying tribute to the lamp’s 90th anniversary, the piece will only be produced in a limited edition of 200 units.

Technics’ SL-40CBT, introduced at IFA 2025 in Berlin, employs the brand’s direct-drive motor system. This provides accurate sound and stable rotation while including Bluetooth connectivity, a simple left-side control panel, and a speed selector for 33 and 45 RPM records. The piece is limited to 300 units globally.

Both the pieces feature a joint Technics and Fritz Hansen badge on the bottom right corner of the chassis, along with a custom Fritz Hansen-branded felt platter for the turntable.

The lamp will be distributed only through the European and Asian channels, while the turntable will be sold worldwide. Underscoring the enduring appeal of Bauhaus design and the continued love for vinyl playbacks, the collaboration is a premium partnership that unites high-end Danish furniture design with iconic Japanese audio engineering.
