Legendary audio brand Sonus faber has unveiled the third generation of its Olympica range, upgraded with proprietary technologies from the flagship Suprema loudspeaker. Inspired by the iconic archway of Vicenza’s Teatro Olimpico by Andrea Palladio, the all-new Olympica G3 collection utilizes the principles of harmony, proportion, and acoustic depth. The lineup includes five models – all featuring refined materials, handcrafted details, and advanced acoustic innovation.

What defines the loudspeakers’ look is the cabinet that maintains the signature teardrop, lute-inspired silhouette but now features a new 45-degree wood veneer layout found on the brand’s iconic Stradivari floorstanding loudspeakers. It also uses hand-applied leather detailing and precision-machined aluminum accents to uplift the overall design philosophy.

At the core of its sound is the Camelia midrange driver that, according to the company, is “designed to reduce unwanted resonance.” Its non-circular shape helps reduce unwanted vibrations and makes better use of the speaker surface. There is also a newly developed Damping Ring at the Phase Plug to optimize air movement around the driver and reduce turbulence.

The Olympica G3 range has also been updated with distinctive organic honeycomb basket structures to support the driver mechanically without encouraging unwanted resonances. The two floorstanding models in the range also incorporate cork as a damping material in the mid-high acoustic chamber to further help minimize unwanted resonances.

The upgraded Olympica range comprises five loudspeaker models, including one bookshelf, two floorstanders, a center channel and an on-wall speaker. The first one, called Olympica I G3, is a 2.0-way vented box bookshelf featuring a 28 mm DAD silk tweeter, a 165 mm paper-cone mid-woofer, and a frequency response of 57 Hz – 40 kHz. Next, the Olympica III G3 is a 3.0-way floorstander with a sealed cork midrange chamber, featuring a 28 mm DAD tweeter, a 165 mm Camelia midrange, and two 165 mm paper-cone woofers spanning 42 Hz – 40 kHz.

Olympica V G3 is a flagship 3.0-way floorstander with a sealed cork midrange chamber, utilizing a 28 mm DAD tweeter, a 165 mm Camelia midrange, and three 165 mm paper-cone woofers covering 37 Hz – 40 kHz. Suitable for home theater applications, the Olympica Center G3 is a 3-way home cinema speaker combining an 18 mm DAD tweeter, a 4-inch Camelia midrange, and two 6.5-inch paper-cone woofers with a frequency range of 58 Hz – 40 kHz. The last on-wall version is a slim 2.0-way sealed on-wall speaker pairing a 28 mm DAD tweeter with a 165 mm Camelia mid-woofer optimized for boundary placement down to 78 Hz – 40 kHz.

Available in walnut or wenge hardwood finishes, the Olympica G3 loudspeaker collection is clearly aimed at audiophiles who treat sound as a contemporary luxury. The pricing reflects it: the Olympica I bookshelf speakers are listed for $13,000/pair, the Olympica III and flagship Olympica V floorstanding speakers cost $24,000/pair and $30,000/pair, respectively. The Olympica Center channel costs $10,500 and the Olympica Wall serves as an entry point to the range with a price tag of $8,000.
