Every suitcase claims to be durable. Of course, you don’t expect fabric or plastic-bodied luggage to meet the claim. But even aluminum and aerospace-grade titanium suitcases only come close. Building on its decades of experience with titanium EDC, Hong Kong-based Titaner believes the industry needs a suitcase that genuinely delivers on its durability claims. That’s why it has created the Voyager, a waterproof titanium carry-on that’s “built to go where you go.” It’s currently available on Kickstarter with a limited-time promotional discount of $500 off.

Preorder Now: $579

If your luggage has survived a few international flights without a scratch, you’re lucky! Mine rarely makes it through more than a couple of journeys. The problem is that not every suitcase is built to withstand all that your travel regimen throws at it.

Between conveyor belts, stacked overhead bins, and airport-carousel points, your luggage goes through hell. And that’s only in the airport. Don’t even get me started on how to handle it on the stairs, uneven streets, and amid sudden downpours. It’s no wonder most suitcases give up before they can board the second flight. But that’s not the case with the Titaner Voyager.

Designed with the modern traveler in mind, the Voyager trades the otherwise trending quick-access pockets on the outside of a suitcase for a waterproof gear vault on the inside. The traditional zipper closure, which is prone to water seepage, also goes, and TSA-approved locking latches replace it—making the Voyager completely waterproof not just in downpours, but also against being submerged during an emergency landing.

Its full-proof locking mechanism ensures your gear, including the laptop, chargers, passport, camera, drone, and other sensitive gear, sits securely inside the Waterproof Vault – described as a box-within-a-box – with a triple-side airtight zipper and stays completely dry. The $60 vault is an optional add-on.

Titaner Voyager sincerely chases durability over economics. The expensive titanium body standing between the airport carnage and your belongings inside makes the Voyager look classy and renders it immensely durable, stain-resistant, and easy to clean. The suitcase, owing to its textured construction, is corrosion-resistant and comparatively lightweight for its size. The 38L capacity carry-on weighs 4.8 kgs only. It has been through drop, tumble drum, and vibration and impact testing in labs to substantiate Voyager’s structural strength and impact resistance.

Its interior and the rolling wheels are as interesting as its choice of construction material. Inside the titanium exterior with reinforced corners lives a full 180-degree flat opening compartment. Each has its own elastic straps, full-panel dividers, and pockets on both sides for storing small essentials. The suitcase lives on a set of eight independent silent spinning wheels, specially designed for bumpy roads, stairs, and constant dragging on all types of paths.

The wheels are more durable and lasting because of the unique connection between the wheel base and the shell, which has been created as Spider-Web Reinforcement, to distribute impact between the wheels depending on the terrain it’s negotiating. The wheels have been put through mileage and step-read testing to verify their wear resistance and to understand their strength.

Titaner has put its deepest engineering into the 13-level adjustable handle that’s been tested for a range of environments as well. Voyager Waterproof Titanium Carry-On System, as it is called, is available now on Kickstarter for $579, i.e., $500 less than its eventual retail price. It is expected to start shipping in December 2026.
