The trend of using a flat sink or flat wash basin is trending these days. Therefore, many designers are coming forward with extraordinary contemporary designs of flat basins to complement the modern bathrooms. Julia Kononenko, a Ukrainian designer has also created a flat sink, but she has taken this concept in a new direction altogether, with the Water Map, a wooden sink with cool grooves to let the water flow in style. Julia’s sink design involves a laminated wood block featuring a 3D representation of the streets of central London.

Julia chose the city of London for her aesthetically pleasing wooden sink because it is considered the birthplace of the industrial revolution of the 18th century. When used, the water in the Water Map sink flows through its ducts mimicking the river channels. The water gently flows out through the concealed rain in the rear, just leave the faucet open and enjoy the visual fun. Truly, using a sink wasn’t so amusing before!
