Hunter Douglas's Platinum App

We have harped about various advanced window systems, ranging from sound-proof yet air-free glazed windows to transparent solar panels that can pose as windows. But what about the controlling your window systems? Is it still to be managed by your running from room to room to close the shutters. Well, Hunter Douglas doesn’t believe so, as is evident from their unveiling of the specialized mobile app (for Apple based iOS) that can control the opening and shutting of your window components. Christened as the Platinum App, it works in tandem with the company’s PowerRise and PowerGlide battery powered products (2.1 versions).

So, basically the Platinum App opens up an interface into your Apple mobile device (which includes iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) via which you can perform your controlling functions. This generally entails a subtle tap to the touchscreen for instant action on the fronts of shades, sheers, draperies and even panels. Of course, a mobile app for remote controlling requires net connectivity, and this connection is provided by the ambit of a wireless network.

The advantages of the Platinum App are however not just limited to the provision of privacy and security. The free software comes with an easy set-up program, while it has the capacity to regulate on a real time basis. Moreover, there are a slew of other features brought up by the simple interface including scenes, timers and schedules – all alluding to the scope of user comfort. And finally, according to the company, the app can also help with energy efficiency with glare control features.
