AltiHut by Studio Stipfold marks Georgia’s first high-altitude hospitality architectural piece that focuses on sustainability. This holiday cottage features a compact layout and fiber-concrete architecture to minimize impact on alpine terrain while including panoramic glazing to maximize the staycation experience. The architectural concept showcases the futuristic vision that hospitality can co-exist with the environment.

Located at 3,014 meters above sea level, AltiHut is more than a mountain refuge as it allows you to experience the mountain in a more personal way. The building is supposed to care not only for the humans staying in it but also for the surrounding area it is built on. Designed for families and small groups, it serves as a quiet retreat that seamlessly integrates into the landscape, without standing out from the terrain.

The AltiHut cottage has a curved exterior design featuring a continuous shell of fiber concrete in an organic shape that feels like a part of the landscape. Furthermore, the exterior will age over time and blend with the terrain easily.

Likewise, the interior layout is simple, with a small room for children, a central living area, and an open mezzanine bedroom that faces the horizon. There is a large glass opening that brings the surrounding landscape into the interior, making it a part of the design. Inside, the abundance of natural wood offers warmth with simplicity while high ceilings add a spacious feel to these 50-square-meter cottages.

The architects have conceived a thoughtful design for a high-altitude holiday accommodation, and you can see the final result in renderings. They are planning to deliver construction materials by helicopter to lower the overall impact, while eco-friendly solar energy is generated for self-use. AltiHut cottages are in the conceptual stage right now, but it is surely exciting to see someone coming up with such eco-friendly hospitality architectural ideas.
