After the launch of its new Ember Artline TVs at CES 2026, Amazon is now focusing on enhancing the user experience on its Fire TVs. Moving in this direction, the brand has unveiled its redesigned user interface (UI) to enhance the content browsing experience as well as an improved Fire TV mobile app. The new Fire TV UI is designed to be cleaner, faster, and organized so that you spend less time searching and more time watching. Furthermore, Alexa+, added to the Fire TV last year, brings personalized recommendations through voice commands.

Taking note from recent research by Gracenote, which says customers in the U.S. spend 12 minutes on average searching for what to watch, Amazon has designed the new Fire TV UI that cuts down browsing time significantly. Now, you can find movies, TV shows, sports, news, and live content across all your subscriptions with a single search. That means when you browse movies, you will see options from all your apps.

The new Fire TV UI offers improved layouts, rounded corners, redesigned color gradients, updated typography, and more optimized spacing. The update not only improves aesthetics, but the programming code is also rebuilt for faster response. Amazon claims up to 20-30 percent gains in speed with the new UI. These visual improvements will be available to customers with a free software update.

Amazon has also updated the home screen, where you can pin more apps; increased to 20 from previously six. Adding to the user experience, the Menu button on the remote lets you access games, art, and photos, and the ambient experience. The company has also added a shortcut panel that can be accessed by long-pressing the Home button on the remote. It offers quick access to the most-used controls on Fire TV, including audio and display settings, your connected Ring cameras, and smart home device management. With Amazon Photos built right into the Fire TV, you can easily share your personal photos and show them on a large screen just like artwork.

Amazon’s latest generative AI-powered capabilities of Alexa+ further enhance the Fire TV experience. You can tell it your movie tastes or examples of actors or directors you like. It will help you find content to watch according to your request. Alexa+ also allows you to add a movie to your watchlist, get live sports stats, create AI-generated images, see your family photos, control smart home devices, or watch a movie scene, all through simple voice commands.

Moreover, Amazon has updated the look and feel of the Fire TV mobile app to complement the TV. It allows you to browse content, manage your watchlist, and play titles on your TV. Now you can use your phone as a second screen to discover content or add a recommendation to your watchlist. The Fire TV mobile app will be available for free download, but there are no exact details yet.

Amazon has revealed no details on when the New Fire TV UI and the mobile app will be available to users. But some reports claim it is scheduled to begin rolling out in February 2026.
