Jacob Witzling is a 2nd grade teacher who also handcrafts unique wooden cabins, mostly for his friends and family. He built his first cabin for just $800 using scraps restored from construction sites and upcycled wood. To date, he has built five one-of-a-kind wooden cabins, and is currently travelling around the US with his partner Sara Underwood in his newest creation – a truck cabin.

Jacob Witzling said;

I get my design inspiration from cabins of the past, from the world of fantasy both in movies and books, and in that childlike part of my imagination that I’m continually trying to preserve.

Built on a 1979 Ford F-250, this truck cabin has a 40-square-foot base and a 20-square-foot sleeping loft. It features a unique shingled roof, designed to withstand high winds and give it a distinctive fairytale-inspired look. Inside the sitting and kitchen area lie side by side, with sleeping area on the loft. There are pull-out windows on both sides of the roof to enjoy views of the surrounding areas.

  1. My husband and I are 40 years old and our dream is to have a tiny cabin or tiny home period. If we ever won…..or I should say, WHEN…..we win the lottery, like anyone who ends up with a large amount of money, we will build our dream home. We don’t have any desire for a mansion, a 3 bedroom villa, anything bigger than tiny no matter what we win! I just want to say, kudos for you for building such an amazing little cabin on an even more amazing pickup! Great year for Ford pickups! You’re living our dream and it gives us hope.
