Who would have thought that an umbrella would turn heads at the world’s largest furniture fair, Salone Del Mobile? Well, that’s exactly what Anamon Parasol did. Designed by Kris Van Puyvelde, one of the founders and home designers of the outdoor brand Royal Botania, its design features an exceptional top-down opening that transitions Anamon Parasol from a garden light to a garden umbrella in a jiffy and vice versa. Transforming the outdoors, this accessory is defined as a true work of design with the potential to enhance the setting.
Anamon Parasol is not your average garden umbrella; it redefines sun-protection with a unique and inventive top-down opening, unlike any umbrella. This groundbreaking vertical opening system is achieved via a simple, easy-to-use mechanism.
By simply sliding up the handle attached to the main pole, the canopy unfolds out of the main structure like a flower. It closes as effortlessly as it opens. When you slide down the handle, the canopy smoothly tucks back into the structure when not in use, turning into a garden light. Anamon Parasol is crowned with a light fixture, shaped like a pet recovery cone. When you want to close and put away the umbrella, it gets sucked into the pole through the opening in the cone.
Puyvelde designed this umbrella with a base plate made of steel, fully galvanized and coated. This plate features a rubber tire, facilitating easy movement around the terrace without leaving any black stains on the floor.
The pole is made of aluminum, whereas the inside mechanism is made of stainless steel. For the ribs and the canopy of the umbrella, carbon and a lightweight polypropylene fiber coated with a polyurethane layer are used, ensuring complete sun and rain protection. There is even a protective cap to cover the light at the top, preventing the rain from entering inside the fixture.

Other technical aspects include LED lighting and a USB-C rechargeable battery that gives up to 12 hours of illumination, depending on the brightness level. The intensity of the light is adjustable, allowing you to create your desired outdoor ambiance.
Anamon Parasol is available in different colors, including black, gray, white, and sage green, catering to your aesthetic needs. To celebrate its innovation and design, Anamon will receive a prestigious Red Dot Award.
