Smart home accessory brand Aqara has launched two new security accessories, the Camera Hub G350 and the Doorbell Camera G400, with the former proudly holding the title of the “world’s first Matter-certified camera hub” designed for multi-platform smart homes. First showcased at CES 2026, the G350 is a 4K indoor camera with a dual-lens system that combines a 4K wide-angle lens and a 2.5K telephoto lens, enabling up to 9x hybrid zoom.

The camera features a motorized pan-tilt mechanism with 360-degree rotation. It enables automatic tracking that follows people and pets wherever they roam. Alongside, you get 37 inches of invisible infrared LEDs for clear night vision without the telltale red glow. The product was first surfaced by HomeKit News and Reviews, following MatterAlpha’s coverage of the company’s China release, before Gizmodo brought it to mainstream attention upon its global availability.

Beyond basic surveillance, the G350 packs notable AI capabilities. The camera can detect faces, pets, and six specific sounds, such as a baby crying, someone coughing, or a dog barking. At the same time, two-way audio and a live view can be accessed via Apple’s HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, Alexa, and Google Home, thanks to Matter support.

Matter compatibility here has a caveat. So far, only Samsung has adopted Matter 1.5, which introduced camera support to the universal smart home protocol back in November. Apple, Google, and others have yet to adopt the updated standard, meaning the G350 currently connects to Apple Home and other party platforms through traditional integration rather than directly via Matter, though the groundwork is already in place for when those platforms catch up.

The Verge’s Jennifer Pattinsen, who has reviewed the device, notes that “Aqara’s G350 brings Matter 1.5 camera support, promising easier smart home integration, but it only works with Samsung SmartThings, as none of the other platforms have added Matter 1.5 yet.”

Other features include a physical lens shield that automatically covers the camera when powered off. A microSD slot supports up to 512GB of local 24/7 recording, or users can optionally leverage Aqara’s encrypted cloud storage. Apple HomeKit Secure Video is also supported for iCloud+ subscribers, albeit with a 1080p resolution limit.

Another USP of the G350 is its hub capabilities. It functions as a Matter Controller and Bridge, implying it can bring Matter devices into the Aqara ecosystem and connect non-Matter Aqara products to other platforms using the standard. Beyond Wi-Fi, the G350 also supports Zigbee, Thread, and Bluetooth, positioning it as a potential command center for a smart home ecosystem rather than a standalone camera.

Aqara Hub G350 is accompanied by Doorbell Camera G400, a capable front-door addition at a lower price point. The G400 features 2K resolution, a 165-degree ultra-wide field of view, and supports Power over Ethernet for both power and a wired network connection, as well as Wi-Fi 6. When online, it can identify faces, packages, vehicles, animals, and other events. The G400 also supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video and RTSP streaming, but lacks Matter support. The Aqara Camera Hub G350 and Doorbell Camera G400 are available to order now for $140 and $100, respectively.
