The Aura Studio series of home speakers by Harman Kardon first launched in 2013 stands out for its transparent dome design that combines techy aesthetics with 360-degree sound and ambient lighting effects. The Aura Studio 5, the latest iteration, continues this legacy with new visual and design improvements.
What is more important is the onboard 160-watt sound system that offers more powerful audio than its predecessors. The Aura Studio 5 combines upgraded audio performance, sophisticated lighting, and smarter connectivity.
The iconic transparent dome of the Aura Studio speaker is retained but improved light diffusion offers a more immersive presence. Now, you have nature-inspired ambient light projections such as Snowy Fireplace, Sunrise, Blossom, Aurora, and Ocean, which cast moving light patterns on walls and ceilings, surpassing the simpler crystal LED lighting of the Aura Studio 4.
You can customize lighting, brightness, and sound through the intuitive Harman Kardon One app. The light syncs with the playing beats to create a captivating light show. The only design addition is a softer, elevated acoustic textile base that complements the glass dome well for a sophisticated appearance.
As of the audio, the Aura Studio 5 speaker is more powerful with a 160-watt 360-degree sound system, which includes a 25 mm tweeter, six 40 mm mid-range drivers, and a 143 mm subwoofer. This setup offers room-filling audio with Harman Kardon’s signature “Constant Sound Field” technology.

The speaker delivers a frequency range of 45Hz to 20kHz. It also supports Bluetooth 5.4 with Auracast and includes 3.5 mm AUX input for wired connections. You can also pair two units for stereo sound at home.
This home speaker seamlessly combines sound and light to elevate music experience. With its dimensions of 306.4 x 234 x 234 mm and 4.2kg weight, the Harman Kardon Aura Studio 5 seems like a perfect bookshelf speaker for modern homeowners who prefer multi-sensorial atmosphere. It is debuted in Japan for ¥46,200 (about $300) and you can expect it to launch in other parts of the world very soon.
