You might remember the company that transforms shipping containers into chic swimming pools. Another ingenious idea is recently conceived by Australian Hans Windell. He has been creating resort-style skip bin plunge pools that have won him a lot of attention around the world. Price and small space requirement are two enticing features of these pools.

Hans was looking for an affordable plunge pool to enjoy the summers and thus got the idea of converting a skip bin into one. Each plunge pool is made by covering an old skip bin in fiberglass and polyester vinyl resin and then finishing with a polyester flow coat. These pools not only promote recycling but also cut the price of a backyard pool by a great margin.

In order to monetize the idea, Hans has started a new company called Skip Pools Australia. These skip bin plunge pools are available as above-ground or in-ground versions. You can choose from two sizes – 5000 liter and 7000 liter. The pricing starts at about $8,900.

If you own a small backyard, these skip bin pools are a perfect option for you.
