q|co, a Colorado-based design studio specializes in making bentwood furniture. Owner Jason McCloskey and his wife Trystin Sova use ski-making technique to create elegant bentwood furniture with additional fiberglass layers for strength and durability. If you look at their You Lounge, it is crafted from a series of bent laminations coupled with custom tapered veneers to create graceful curves and seat.

Sitting on a bar stool-like pedestal base, You Lounge has a curved back and seat. These parts can be upholstered in wool and leather or you can choose your own upholstery. The combination of curved wood and steel creates a minimalist lounge chair suitable for all interior styles. Like other chair designs, it features a uniquely shaped seat for comfort.

This upholstered bentwood lounge chair is designed to weigh less yet be a functional piece of furniture at home. If you wish to purchase the You Lounge, it is available for about $4,800 at q-co.design.
