French designer and industrial architect Philip Starck is a prominent figure in the lighting industry. Ten years ago, he released the lamp Bon Jour Unplugged, which made quite the stir. Starck redefined the table lamp in the form of portable lighting, embodying his vision of minimalism, functionality, and radical beauty. After ten years, Italian lighting brand Flos has released the latest edition of Bon Jour Unplugged, celebrating this landmark anniversary.
This reimagined version of the Bon Jour Unplugged table lamp is adorable, cordless, and highly functional. Flos upgraded this 2025 version with technical enhancements on the original one, which include a color tune technology and warmth adjustment system, allowing users to go from a warm glow to a bright white with a simple touch.
Keeping up with the aesthetics, there is a refresher in colors, too. The colors range from almost white, faded blue, French rose, and fresh mint to the darker tones of stormy grey and black chrome. Each hue brings a new character and new vibe to the space. Some familiar colors like copper and chrome of the previous version prevail as a nod to the original.
Previously, the Bon Jour Unplugged came with a transparent diffuser as an added accessory. In this latest edition, the table lamp wears a transparent crown, which is a standard and integral part of the lamp. The light passes through the shade and casts an ephemeral glow, completing and defining the architecture of the lamp. There are four other diffusers available – amber, fumee, fabric, and rattan – as a fun, compatible accessory.
There have been some clever upgrades in the lamp’s technical aspects. It is now integrated with color tune technology, offering three distinct color temperatures. Now you can seamlessly go from the cozy warmth of 2200K to the bright illumination of 3000K.

Other upgrades and improvements cater to the lamp’s usability, making it more user-friendly. It offers intuitive dimming via an optical sensor. There is also a night mode, which gently fades to just 3 percent intensity. The charging has been improved as well; it is faster and completely wireless, thanks to its Qi wireless charging, making the lamp compatible with any standard induction charging pad.
Once it’s fully charged, it can give up to six hours of unobstructed illumination. You can take the lamp anywhere from your bedroom, living room, to your garden, anywhere you want the light to follow you.
The Bon Jour Unplugged 2025 is now packed in a cardboard-only packaging, along with a USB-C charging cable. If you want to purchase the latest edition of the lamp, you can find it available at Flos’s website for just $310.
