Breville recently unveiled its new flagship espresso machine, the Oracle Dual Boiler, which has blown its competitors out of the water with its amazingly versatile functionality. It can work on autopilot for quick, consistent results, features two boilers, and a high-definition touchscreen that facilitates drink selection, setup, and feedback. But just because it is automated doesn’t mean you get no control whatsoever. You can fine-tune your brew without any fuss, and experiment with temperature and milk texture.

The design of the Oracle Dual Boiler draws some inspiration from the Oracle Jet, with a few feature similarities. Both machines have a similar touchscreen, both follow the same 4 keys formula, and have the Auto MilQ system. But that is where the similarities end. The Breville Oracle Dual Boiler features an impressive Quad-Core CPU that enhances the highly responsive 5.7-inch touchscreen, which lets you switch between its two modes: the Auto mode or the Manual mode.

The coffee machine comes with powerful stainless steel dual boilers, allowing extraction of the finest brew and steaming of the milk at the same time. Its triple heating system has PID temperature control, maintaining an optimal extraction temperature, which is adjustable in precise increments to suit your requirements. The machine has a heated group head that adds further consistency, keeping brewing temperature stable when you need back-to-back shots.

The new machine has an Auto Dial-In system that helps tackle one of the frustration points for home users, which is the grind size. It monitors extraction and automatically adjusts the grind for future uses, gradually improving for a more consistent result without requiring constant user intervention. The machine employs a set of Baratza European precision burrs that offer 45 grind settings, offering a wide range of flexibility, whether you are using the auto mode or manual mode.

The Auto MilQ provides silky microfoam hands-free, with settings optimized for milk. It also uses the new Breville+ Coffee App to remotely power on and pre-heat the machine. The machine comes with 15 preset recipes, covering café staples including espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, iced lattes, shakeratoes, and even an espresso martini. Combined with the machine’s steam boiler, the system provides amazing texture suitable for latte art at the touch of a button, and you don’t have to be a barista, either.

The manual mode lets you adjust every step of the way. You can make changes for pre-infusion, brewing, brew time, and even temperature, with single-degree increments. If you want to handle the texture of the milk, you can even switch milk steaming to manual operation. The machine has a 58mm stainless steel portafilter, ensuring compatibility with standard accessories and tools.

But you need to shell out $3,000 to get all this. The Oracle Dual Boiler is the most expensive model by Breville to date. However, given the amazing brew control and two boilers the machine offers, it is worth every penny. You can get the Breville Oracle Dual Boiler through Breville and Williams Sonoma now.
