Marshall released a handful of speakers last year. Still, the one that garnered the most attention was the Bromley 750, a high-end, portable Bluetooth party speaker featuring a signature Marshall amp design, boasting a 40-hour battery life, and delivering 360-degree “True Stereophonic” sound. Seven months after its release, the British amp brand has doubled down on its party speaker lineup with the Bromley 450, a smaller and more accessible version of its much-acclaimed flagship, bringing the British audio giant’s signature rock-and-roll energy to a more portable form factor.
Priced at $800, the Bromley 450 is a smaller, inexpensive alternative to the Bromley 750, retaining the larger model’s guitar-amp aesthetic in a more compact package. Reviewers have taken note of these qualities. Tom’s Guide, in its hands-on review, has praised the speaker’s matte black finish, brass and gold accents, and integrated LED lamps “that dance and react to music for an immersive light-and-sound show.”
Similar to its sibling, the Bromley 450 is designed to deliver a concert-like experience at home or in the backyard, packing 400 watts of Class D amplification, two 6.4-inch woofers, four 1.9-inch full-range drivers, and two 7.9-inch passive radiators. Standing 19 inches tall and weighing just 27 lbs, the Bromley 450 is noticeably more manageable than its larger counterpart, which tips the scales at 52 lbs and stands 25 inches high. The company has removed the built-in wheels from this model but retained the carry handles.
From a connectivity standpoint, the speaker supports Bluetooth 5.3 with Auracast sharing technology, along with SBC, AAC, and LC3 codecs. Physical inputs include a 3.5mm auxiliary jack, RCA, and USB-C. Not to mention, two XLR/6.3mm combo jacks that support mic and instrument connections for DJ and karaoke use.
Another compelling aspect of the speaker is its impressive battery life. TechRadar, which also had early access to the speaker, confirms its 40-hour battery endurance. Marshall claims the 40-plus-hour battery can play 800 songs back-to-back, and that the battery is both replaceable and rechargeable. If the party runs longer than 800 hours, users can swap out the battery on the fly using the same pack found in the Bromley 750, or simply plug the speaker into a power outlet.
The Bromley 450 is priced at $800 and is available directly from Marshall now, with broader retail availability starting March 31. By comparison, the Bromley 750 commands a significantly higher price of $1,300. For those who admired the 750’s ambition but were put off by its size and price tag, the Bromley 450 may well be the party speaker they have been waiting for.
