British lighting company Curiousa operates on a single philosophy of creating bespoke lighting, celebrating color, form, and quality. After making waves with its Wave II collection, it’s back again to stimulate our curiosity and intellect with its Carnival collection of sculptural pendant lights. Displaying beautiful forms, the collection draws inspiration from geometric Harlequin motifs, with a diamond and an elongated diamond pattern on a costume, rooted in the theatrical practice of the 16th century Italian Commedia dell’arte.
The collection features three distinctive pendant lights: bold Bravado, striking Vecchio, and playful Lazzo. Each piece is permeated with expressiveness, creativity, and subtle distinctiveness that is enticing. Each light stands witness to craftsmanship that takes immense precision, many working hands, and resonance towards natural material and traditional crafting techniques.
Much like the patchwork costume of Harlequin, Carnival collection embraces contrasting hues while radiating playfulness and character. Not only this, these lights embrace the spirited interaction of form and material, merging the beauty of hand-blown glass, the tactile nature of porcelain, and the dexterity of wood. This cosmic union of materials, textures, and soft color palette lends the lights a striking quality with a tinge of quirkiness and whimsy.

Designed to fascinate, each light in the collection can mesmerize as a standalone piece and look equally impressive when clustered together for a charming display. Whether you feature the lights over a dining table, in hallways, the living room, in hotels, lobbies, or any large interior space, their soothing hues and comforting sculptural forms will be a center of attraction.
Notably, each piece in the collection is handcrafted in the company’s Derbyshire studio. The Carnival collection is customizable, and you can choose from an assorted palette of 10 hand-pigmented ceramic finishes and 10 soft, mellow glass colors to make each piece unique and custom-made for your space.
