Did you know that felt can be used to create Christmas trees? Yes, you read that right. Felt is an amazing craft material, with tons of applications. This holiday season we bring you a DIY felt Christmas tree, which is quick and easy to make and works perfectly for those last-minute decorations. You just need to let your imagination flow wild and create whatever comes to mind. If not, we have an effortless idea for you to steal. So, who’s ready for some last minute DIY fun?

Materials Used:

  • Felt sheets in 3 different green shades
  • Chart paper
  • Sparkly white yarn
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

Steps for DIY Felt Christmas Tree

  • Make a paper cone or use a foam one
  • Then make a squiggly pattern at the bottom of a 3-inch wide felt sheet. Repeat the process with the two remaining shades of the green felt
  • Now stuff the cone with cotton and create a stem from four glue skewers, which in turn will be glued onto a cardboard piece or coaster
  • Wrap the first layer of green felt on the bottom of the cone and cut the access felt
  • Use dark shade first, then medium dark, and then light from the bottom up
  • Keep adding layers until your cone is completely covered in varying shades of green felt
  • Glue white yarn along the squiggles of each layer, adding a perfect trim to your DIY tabletop tree
  • Add a tree topper star and display it wherever you want

And that’s it! Your DIY felt Christmas tree is all done to adorn your tabletops. Follow the simple video tutorial below and let us know how it worked out for you!
