In a world filled with mass-produced objects, there’s a light of conscious creation that goes beyond the realms of functionality and aesthetics. Enkei, a visionary Swedish start-up, presents its inaugural masterpiece called the Reminder 001 table lamp.

More than just a source of light, it is a testament to Enkei’s philosophy of celebrating beauty, reconstruction, and a sustainable future. The founders Lovisa Sunnerholm and Miriam Bichsel ensure they make an impact with the launch of the table lamp at Stockholm Design Week 2024.

At first glance, the Reminder 001 lamp captivates with its elegant design, a seamless fusion of form and purpose. The lamp stands as a symbol of circularity, embracing the beauty of recycled materials and challenging the norms of traditional manufacturing.

The base is crafted from Enkei’s proprietary material using a majority of ceramic waste, which ensures not just durability but makes a commitment to reducing environmental impact. The design also reminds us of natural objects like a half-moon that lies atop the base. It even tilts, allowing room for imagination. It can thus be a perfect lighting option for living spaces.

The inventive use of discarded materials not only adds a unique touch to each lamp but also promotes the concept of upcycling. The adjustable shade allows users to personalize their lighting experience, adapting to changing preferences and evolving styles over time.

Reminder 001 lamp incorporates various reclaimed components like discarded ventilation pipes, fossil-free steel, and scrap-based wires. At its core, the lamp is more than a lighting object and the brand delves into material innovation and circular production methods with it, creating functional artifacts with intention.

Reminder 001 lamp seeks to remind people of their conscious choices in everyday lives. It is a subtle yet powerful symbol of a future unfolding where sustainability and aesthetics coexist. Through new materials, production methods, and everyday aesthetics, Enkei makes us believe that a better sustainable world is possible and the Reminder 001 lamp is a fine embodiment of the same.
