The Ford Nugget camper van is quite popular among travelers because it gets a new version every year to meet different adventure needs. Last year, Ford launched a long-wheelbase model to include kitchen and toilet. Now, it is introducing a high-roof Nugget for the upcoming Caravan Salon. This new hard-sided camper is designed for year-round use, especially for those who like to camp in winter.
The new camper van has a fixed high roof that adds more sleeping and storage space. Unlike pop-up roofs made of fabric, its fixed, solid roof protects fully against weather and wild animals, making it safe to camp in winter or in remote areas. Good insulation completes the winter-ready design for comfort.
According to Espacio Furgo, the high-roof Nugget has the same body size as the pop-top version, that is, about 5 meters long for the short model and just over 5.3 meters for the longer “Plus” model. But the fixed roof raises the height from 2.09 meters to 2.80 meters, which means there is enough standing room in all the living spaces, without the need to lift or lower anything. This fixed roof also allows for the inclusion of upper cabinets and storage spaces for those who want larger storage for extended stays.
The new variant keeps up the concept of two spaces: the kitchen at the back and the living-dining space in the middle. This allows you to use the kitchen even when the lower bed is open. The upper bed under the fixed roof is more spacious, and the lower bed transforms into seating and furniture when not in use. The camper van includes modern essentials like a two-burner stove, sink with hot and cold water, a 33-liter fridge, heating, an outdoor shower, power sockets, LED lights, and high-quality furniture for comfortable living on the road.

As for the tech features, the high-roof Nugget includes a 13-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen, 5G internet, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It has advanced driver aids and Ford Camper Assist, which offers two years of help across Europe. There are engine options like EcoBlue diesels up to 150 hp and a plug-in hybrid for electric driving.
As reported by New Atlas, the Ford High Roof variant is focused on year-round comfort with a four-sleeper layout, unlike Volkswagen California, which only offers pop-up four-sleepers or fixed-roof two-sleepers. This new model will make its debut at the 2025 Caravan Salon in Germany.
