Digital photo frames are nothing new at CES, but Fraimic is pitching a different take this year. The startup is debuting the Fraimic Smart Canvas, a framed 6-inch E-ink screen that generates AI artwork from spoken prompts and can also display photos uploaded from your phone.

The early prototypes of the Fraimic voice-to-art photo canvas are going to debut in Las Vegas next week. The frame is engineered to mimic ordinary wall art, but instead of the actual painting hanging on the wall, the Smart Canvas shows AI-generated artwork created on demand using voice-based input. No apps and subscriptions, the AI-powered digital canvas relies entirely on E-ink to display artwork and photos.

AI-generated images are common on Instagram and other social media platforms, but it remains difficult for consumers to integrate them into the real world. Fraimic, however, introduces the first wireless hardware, which can allow AI art to hang on the wall in your physical space. The art generation is powered by OpenAI, and the photo frame based on the E-ink display can create instant voice-generated artwork. The display uses power only when it refreshes an image, which allows the internal battery to last for several years.

Since the images are generated on the display in real-time, there are no playlists or preset loops on the Fraimic. Users tap the mat on the front of the display and describe the artwork they want to see. The built-in AI then generates a full-color image on Spectra E-ink within seconds. Users can also upload their own photos or artwork from a phone to display them on the canvas, which Fraimic says is designed to resemble paint on paper.

The Smart Canvas features a matte finish and a paper-like texture and is available for preorder in two sizes: 14×18-inch and 24×36-inch, priced at $399 and $999, respectively. Each of them is cordless, designed to fit standard frames, and are expected to begin shipping in June 2026.
