Regardless of how affordable camper trailers become or how sophisticated rooftop tents (RTTs) get, the nostalgia a ground tent generates is hard to replicate for any other camping rig. We’ve recently explored various ground tents tailored for solo hikers or those who favor lightweight camping gear. However, options for family camping are limited. While innovative designs like the Xenonest Double-story tent and Snow Peak Land Nest Shelter exist, they are either prohibitively expensive or currently unavailable in regions like the U.S., Europe, and Australia. Recognizing this gap, a Wisconsin-based tent manufacturer seized the opportunity to launch the Gazelle T4 Overland EXP tent.
Branded as an all-season tent, the Gazelle T4 Overland EXP is a quick-to-assemble shelter designed for camping enthusiasts who value comfort, convenience, and durability. Its robust construction and thoughtful design make it suitable for families, couples, or solo adventurers who want a high-quality outdoor experience.
The standout feature of the Gazelle T4 Overland EXP is its rapid setup, taking under 90 seconds thanks to its integrated hub frame and sturdy fiberglass poles. As noted by New Atlas, the roof’s X-frame segment connects at a central hub, allowing users to easily pull the structure into place using an external hub loop. These loops are then secured with guy lines and stakes, along with the floor corners, to ensure stability. This quick setup and takedown process allows campers to spend more time enjoying nature and less time hassling with gear.
The tent offers a spacious 61-square-foot interior, a 78-inch peak height, and vertical sidewalls, comfortably fitting four people. For accessibility and airflow, it includes two large D-shaped doors and mesh screens. All-in-all, it’s a family-friendly tent that is designed to be spacious, comfortable and durable.
Speaking of durability, the Gazelle T4 Overland EXP features a 210-denier Ripstop polyester shell and rainfly with a 2000MM HH waterproof rating, all incorporated in the design to keep campers dry in rain or snow. Not to mention, the 300-denier Oxford weave polyester bathtub-style floor, with a 5000MM HH rating that ensures protection from ground moisture.

Other highlights include a removable floor for easy cleaning, multiple storage pockets, a gear loft, and ‘Foundation Feet’ for improved stability and wind resistance. On a little downside, it doesn’t seem to incorporate any thermal insulation like most Crua Outdoors tents would, but it does offer two closable vents for heater or AC use.
Another drawback is the tent’s 40lbs weight, making it less suitable for backpacking or extended hikes. Nevertheless, the tent’s all-season reliability, ample space, and user-friendly design make it an excellent choice for campers who prioritize comfort and ease. Priced at $600 (a $200 discount off the MSRP), it’s a solid investment for those seeking a dependable, comfortable shelter for their outdoor adventures.
