GE Profile’s Opal series of nugget ice makers is known as one of the best-known offerings available in the market. At KBIS 2026, the brand expanded the lineup with the new Opal Mini Nugget Ice Maker. The new nugget ice maker is designed for those looking for basic ice-making functionality without any smart features like the previous Opal 2.0.

It has a smaller footprint similar to a coffee machine, making it better for apartments, bar carts, or kitchens. This countertop nugget ice maker has a top water filler that ditches the side tank for a compact footprint. It also comes with a flip-open front panel for easy cleaning and descaling.

The company plans to launch it in nature-inspired finishes like Moonstone Blue, Stone Grey, and Charcoal Grey in the future. Each device provides up to 34 pounds of snackable ice per day, which seems quite enough for a small family.

GE Profile is also offering another model named Opal Mini Pro that features almost the same size but is wider with the attached side tank. It has more features, including a scale-inhibiting water filter and a stainless-steel scoop with an external holder. You also have the option for Wi-Fi connectivity for scheduling, maintenance alerts, and even customizing the ice bin light color. This model has a stainless steel finish with a charcoal grey control panel and a matching side tank, or you can go for a fully stainless steel option.

Both models pack new enhancements added after user feedback. These upgrades help scale buildup and maintain optimal ice output longer, making the devices better. The GE Profile Opal Mini and Opal Mini Pro will be available starting July 2026. The pricing of Opal Mini starts at $279, while Opal Mini Pro starts at $379.
