Gozney first entered the consumer market with a mailbox-shaped portable pizza oven back in 2016. That original Roccbox, compact yet high-powered, set the template for what an outdoor pizza oven could be. Then came the Dome, launched in 2021, which reviewers described as “expensive yet pretty awesome,” followed by the Dome Gen 2 Series, a two-size, multi-fuel flagship that the brand touted to be its most ambitious oven, starting at $2,300. Then, earlier this year, came the Tread, which Gozney billed as the world’s most portable pizza oven, designed specifically for car campers and outdoor adventurers. The company’s recent creation, Arc Lite pizza oven, slots into a different gap altogether.
The compact and portable pizza oven tries not to compete with its predecessors’ chef-grade ambitions but rather aims at people with a small balcony or a studio kitchen counter, and a good appetite. “It’s compact, powerful, and easy to use. You can place it on a balcony or take it to your mate’s, and it still kicks out the same flame and heat as our bigger ovens,” states Tom Gozney, Founder and CEO of Gozney.
The Arc Lite, as evident by the name, weighs just 26 lbs (similar to its predecessor, though), and roughly 18 to 19 inches across. As per the company’s press release, the Arc Lite reaches temperatures up to 500 degrees Celsius and cooks a 12-inch Neapolitan-style pizza in under two minutes, using the same lateral rolling flame technology found in the wider Arc series.
The pizza oven features a 12mm cordierite stone floor (8mm shallower than the original Arc) that holds heat through back-to-back cooks, and full insulation keeps performance steady as outdoor temperatures drop. Tom’s Guide here argues that “the new slimmer stone might not retain heat as well compared to its predecessor.” However, the company states, “Arc Lite’s insulated body locks in heat for consistent, reliable performance, while a high-performance 12mm stone floor stores and releases heat evenly for crisp, airy pizza bases bake after bake.”

This brings us to the tech behind the product. Honestly, the oven is no rocket science to operate. It features a single front-facing dial for smooth flame management. On the downside, there’s no built-in thermometer, so you’ll need an infrared thermometer to check the internal temperature of the oven. Lastly, the cost is where everything boils down to. Priced at $400, the Arc Lite undercuts the Roccbox, Gozney’s long-standing entry-level option, by roughly $100, and sits galaxies away from the Dome Gen 2’s premium tier.
Overall, it’s the most affordable oven Gozney has brought to market. The Arc Lite will open for sale starting March 3. If you love home-cooked pizza and don’t want to spend hundreds of bucks on Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, you can hop on Gozney’s website and book your Arc Lite.
