Equestrian Hermès x Bialetti Moka Pot Concept is a Collab I Desperately Need in Real Life

I must admit, I am not a fan of artificial intelligence in art and design. But Emanuele Jane Morelli, an AI designer, has created a concept design that I cannot deny is spectacular. Morelli leveraged AI to create a Hermès x Bialetti Moka Pot for the Year of the Horse, and it is something I didn’t know I needed in my kitchen until now. Not to challenge Lorelai Gilmore, but I, too, run on coffee at this point, and while my one-cup red Bialetti moka pot does its work flawlessly, I want this pretty one, too.

The speculative design revisits one of the most familiar and loved domestic design objects and gives it an equestrian makeover. Morelli conceived the speculative collaboration and imagines how the Parisian house and the Italian coffee maker might look upon their convergence. The result is a beautiful moka pot in beige shade, with an orange horse on the top and a brown handle. Even though there is no word on the horizon about such a possibility in the near future, I yearn for this stunning coffee maker.

Based on the classic Bialetti Moka Pot design, the concept features a compact build of faceted aluminum. The upper chamber is clad in Hermès orange with a sculpted horse functioning at the lid’s finial and body. The equine legs extend down to the sides of the upper chamber of the pot, transforming it from a small stovetop everyday accessory into an aesthetic design object.

Morelli respects the iconic geometry of the original Moka Pot. The octagonal base is preserved with its weight and proportion grounding the creatively expressive top. There is a brushed metal band at the joint with Hermès and Bialetti brand inscriptions. She didn’t merely paste the two logos together and call it a day; instead, she built a visual language that feels native to both brands and their fans.

The equestrian motifs echo the spirit of Hermès while celebrating the Year of the Horse. The handle of this conceptual pot shifts to a warm brown, indicating the brand’s leather. On the other side, the spout keeps its shape and angle for easy pouring. I like how the horse form rises as a continuous mass from the spout, lining up the pot’s central axis.

As if the suggestive design wasn’t enough to excite us coffee lovers, Morelli goes one step ahead to design matching espresso cups and even a walnut case lined with a light colored fabric. The AI designer conceptualized an espresso cup with a horse profile handle in matching colors. The head cradles the rim while the ribbed tail smoothly falls downward. The cup bears inscriptions of Hermès Paris inside the rim.

A horseshoe-shaped saucer accompanies the cup. The curved orange insert marks one side, while the other has a recessed channel to keep a small spoon. Morelli imagines the entire set inside a sleek walnut case. The case has designated spots for the Moka Pot, two cups, saucers, and other accessories to treat the entire place setting and coffee ritual as a miniature plan.

While I can only hope this inspires the teams at both luxury houses to partner on something similar, the possibility of such news remains distant. Until that day comes, we can only delight in this design’s beauty. But I desperately need this concept to become a reality. So keep your fingers crossed, folks!
