Norwegian furniture company Eikund is known for re-launching classic furniture. Continuing this tradition, the company offers the Hertug dining chair, originally designed in 1959 by Fredrik A. Kayser, a well-famed furniture designer of the 20th century. Kayser’s father owned a furniture agency in Norway, inspiring him to become a furniture designer.

The Hertug dining chair is an exceptional portrayal of his excellence. Kayser created this chair for Viken Møbelfabrikk, in Bergen, when he was a freelancer.

The chair is remarkable with a distinctive grace and sophistication. It is designed to complement all kinds of interiors. The seat of Hertug seems like floating as it only touches the frame at necessary points. The framework has a minimalistic appeal, making it fit for modern diners.

The backrest allows the seater to sit straight while the seat provides comfortable cushioning. The legs are tapered toward the bottom with padding to ensure stability.

The framework of the Hertug dining chair is built using several wood types including soaped oak, white oiled oak, oiled oak, oiled walnut, and black lacquered oak. The upholstery is done with semi-aniline/aniline leather in color options such as Black, Ginger, Havana, Moss, Ruby, Tan, Natural, Cognac, and Brown.

This dining chair can be used with different dining and interior settings. Priced at $1,400, it can be used at home, hotels, restaurants, and office spaces.
