HiBREW may be a relatively new name in the home coffee appliance industry, but that doesn’t undermine its prowess all the same. Ever since its inception in 2017, the company has earned the trust of casual caffeine enthusiasts and hardcore coffeeholics alike. HiBREW has run a total of six crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter, including the likes of HiBrew H6 Coffee Maker, all of which have been quite successful, raising over $500,000 combined. Building on its past success, the company has now announced the launch of the HiBREW G64 Coffee Grinder.

Available in two versions, HiBREW G64 and HiBREW G64Plus, the new grinder combines 64mm stainless steel burrs, a powerful brushless motor, and an advanced anti-static design to deliver cafe-level consistency for home baristas. We’ll get to these details later, but first, let’s outline the basic difference between HiBREW G64 and HiBREW G64Plus.

Priced at $329 and $399, respectively, both versions offer 64mm stainless steel burrs, with the former available in a silver finish and the latter coming in a titanium-coated stainless steel gold finish. Besides burr material, the two versions also differ in power and motor speed, with HiBREW G64Plus leveling up on the base model by offering a larger range and stepless motor speed adjustment.

As detailed by Sprudge, the G64 has three adjustment speeds: 1,200, 1,400, and 1,600 RPM. The G64Plus ranges from 600 to 1,600rpm, with the lower RPM range better suited for lighter roasts. Hibrew states the brushless motor in the G64Plus is also quieter, and the brushed motor in the standard G64 has a longer lifespan.

The coffee grinder body is constructed from aluminum alloy for durability. It comes with a 60g beam hopper lid that favors single-dosing. Additional conveniences include a magnetic dosing cup, an anti-slip adjustment dial, and a portafilter holder compatible with standard 58mm espresso baskets.

From a functionality standpoint, the HiBREW G64Plus is equipped with 64mm titanium-coated stainless steel flat burrs, which, as per the makers, “prioritizes precision by slicing rather than crushing beans.” This cutting action delivers highly consistent particle size, a crucial factor in achieving reliable flavor extraction across different brewing methods.

Powering the burrs is a 380W brushless DC motor that maintains high torque even under heavy load. The motor is engineered to operate with reduced heat, noise, and friction. The G64Plus also emphasizes control and versatility. Its stepless adjustment system offers up to 150 grind settings, allowing users to fine-tune grind size for everything from Turkish coffee to French press.

Complementing this is an adjustable RPM range of approximately 600 to 1600 revolutions per minute. By independently controlling burr spacing and motor speed, users can better match grind performance to bean density, roast level, and brewing style. HiBREW has also built in a dual-layer anti-static system that combines ionization and passive shielding to prevent coffee grounds from clinging to internal surfaces or scattering on the counter. The magnetic powder outlet is detachable for quick cleaning, allowing users to remove residual grounds that could otherwise go stale and affect flavor.

Together, these features suggest that the HiBREW G64Plus aims to bridge the gap between commercial grinders and increasingly sophisticated home setups. Its combination of large burrs, robust motor performance, micro-metric adjustment, and low-retention design makes it a compelling choice for users seeking cafe-level consistency without the footprint or cost of industrial equipment. Currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter, early backers can snag the machine for $329 or $399 for the Plus version.
