The concept of circularity is gaining momentum in the furniture design industry and the ongoing Stockholm furniture fair is also witnessing the wave. Swedish studio Interesting Times Gang known for its circular design approach has partnered up with Ingridsdotter to make a significant contribution to the trend. The collaboration is presenting two new versions of the legendary Swedish designer Jonas Bohlin’s LIV table made from recycled materials.

Designed by Jonas Bohlin in 1997, the LIV table was distinguished by its rounded top and curvy legs that have been retained in the reproduction. Interesting Times Gang told Homecrux that “In an increasingly digital society, there is a longing for tactile, organic materials that communicate authenticity and physicality which an increasingly virtual, online existence lacks.” The new LIV Mahalo and LIV Tundra tables also follow a similar approach. Both of them only have differently themed tops but are willingly made from recycled materials to follow the circularity theme.

Talking of the LIV Mahalo table it features a bluish and white colored top made by pressing fishing nets from the West coast of Sweden. The unique pattern of the color plays an important role in defining the overall look of the top, apart from its sustainability. On the contrary, the LIV Tundra tabletop resembles a sea glass shoreline and is made from discarded packaging and yogurt containers.

Combining timeless Scandinavian aesthetics with sustainable design results in a furniture piece that people will cherish in their homes as a collectible due to classic design and eco-conscious craftsmanship.

Ingridsdotter has also presented a wide collection of Jonas Bohlin’s original pieces including the LIV chaise lounge at the Stockholm furniture fair. Meanwhile, Interesting Times Gang unveiled a new colorway for the award-winning Kelp Collection.
