Jiwon Jung, a Korean furniture designer, brings forth his intriguing furniture collection, Kinold Styrofoam Stools. The collection has been crafted from Styrofoam, which is generally used in packaging and insulation and rarely to make furniture. Nonetheless, the stools showcase a blend of creativity and the art of mixing to unravel an unusual play of colors and patterns.

Kinoldis an imaginative and vibrant furniture collection with attractive color combinations and wavy patterns on it. Jung enjoys the process of creating and toiling with colors. To that accord, he has used Styrofoam as the primary material to create attractive furniture you’d want at home.

Styrofoam is used as the chief material because of its lightweight and easy-to-handle properties. This makes the process of creation joyful, but the production of Kinold Stools requires a lot of effort. The process starts with the cutting of Styrofoam in stool shape.

When the pieces are cut out to the shape and requirement, they have to take a dip of faith in colored water. After the plunge, the exterior of the stool cutouts absorbs the color to beautifully transform into artwork. Now these pieces can be left to dry naturally.

Once the furniture (coming into its final outlook) is dry, a lacquer coating is sprayed onto it. This gives the Styrofoam pieces their unique, textured look and the final product is ready to fill your living room with lightweight furniture that has its own colorful sheen.

The magnificent patterned Kinold Styrofoam Stools arrive in a choice of four enticing color combinations: mint and black, pink and black, yellow and black, and grey and black. The Kinold is doing rounds on Instagram, at the time of writing, but there is no information about the availability of these stools. Until we have more, you can leave us your comment on whether you’d fancy sitting on a Styrofoam stool!
