The Lamp/Two Brass by Formaminima is a geometric table lamp that accentuates the look of any space with its magical design and presence. It is handcrafted in Italy and features a minimal, industrial-inspired silhouette. It is characterized by its satin-finished solid brass structure and a distinctive suspended diffuser that gives it a floating look. The lamp was displayed at the Collectible Brussels fair earlier this month.
The lamp is part of the limited series Revamp Edition. It is realized through high-end craftsmanship techniques, presenting a diffuser in burnished satin brass juxtaposed with a minimal, transparent crystal shade. The lower section of the lighting diffuser features extra-thin and translucent porcelain geometries, providing unforeseen play of light.
The squared tubular form gently hangs the diffuser above a minimal thin plate in a golden satin finish and is folded like a sheet of paper, enhancing the diffuser’s textural contrasts. The hidden joinery provides a sleek solution to the smooth intersections of sober surfaces and sought-after industrial-taste textures, making the table a sober yet elegant piece.

The light source appears to hover mid-air inside the brass frame of the diffuser, suspended within a crystal housing. When turned on, the extra-thin porcelain becomes semi-transparent, revealing a warm, unforeseen glow that shifts the lamp from a cold metal structure to a soft light object. The downward-pointing light hits the horizontal brass base, reflecting a golden warmth upward, enhancing the precious feel of the materials.
Even when turned off, the lamp functions as a minimalistic sculpture, making it a statement piece for an uncluttered desk or console. It blends perfectly in quiet luxury and mid-century modern environments where the focus is on raw, high-quality materials rather than ornate decorations.
