If you’re flush enough to consider a Lamborghini Urus your everyday ride, the Bugatti Calandre Table Clock could be the perfect high-end addition to your desk. Limited to just 99 pieces, the Calandre isn’t your average timepiece, it’s a $240,000 paragon born from a collaboration between Jacob & Co., Bugatti, and Lalique. The trio has poured their expertise of top-notch watchmaking, automotive heritage, and crystal artistry into something that’s as much a sculpture as it is a clock.

The high-end table clock draws its inspiration from the Bugatti Type 41 Royale, a car that’s considered a holy grail by automotive enthusiasts. Calandre’s iconic horseshoe-shaped grille is reimagined in hand-cut Lalique crystal, giving the clock a sleek, Art Deco vibe that feels both timeless and modern. As pointed out by Hypebeast, “264 x 196 mm clock is crafted from Lalique crystal,” which creates a flawless, transparent shell that showcases the clock’s inner workings.

Flanking the sides are two ‘Dancing Elephants’, a nod to Rembrandt Bugatti’s sculptures that once adorned the Royale’s radiator cap. A 30-mm Jacob-cut red gem adds final touches to the high-end timepiece. Under the hood (rather, under the crystal) the Calandre is powered by Jacob & Co.’s in-house JCAM58 movement, a hand-wound caliber with an eight-day power reserve. This implies that you only have to wind it once a week, which is probably a good thing when you’re dropping a quarter of a million on a clock.

Another standout feature of the timepiece is the vertical flying tourbillon, a mesmerizing complication originally designed to counter gravity’s effect on timekeeping. While bloggers can still debate whether tourbillons actually improve accuracy, there’s no arguing they look incredible, and this one is front and center, spinning away like a tiny mechanical ballet.

According to duPont Registry, it took over three years to perfect this piece, and that is evident from the handcrafted leather trunk it comes packaged in to the intricate engravings that tie it to Bugatti’s legacy. At $240,000, the Bugatti Calandre table clock costs as much as a Lamborghini Urus or, as Carscoops cheekily notes, a decent condo in some places. With Jacob & Co.’s history of selling out limited-edition pieces in no time (like their Bugatti Tourbillon watch), you’d better move fast if you want one.
