People find different ways to express their creativity and transform their surroundings into a work of art. A case in point is this Indian man who took creativity to the next level. A mechanic by profession, Vijesh Kumar from Kerala, India, furnished and decorated his house with spare parts from cars and bikes leaving millions of people in awe.

This home with recycled car part embellishments stands as a thoughtful expression of sustainable design with a little blend of creativity. Every corner inside-out is adorned with eye-catching industrial elements. Starting from the exterior, there is a Yamaha bike turned into a unique letterbox. The seating on the front porch is made out of an Ambassador Car. Recycled tires become part of windows and display shelves.

Above the entrance door, a classic lighting fixture from a scooter (Bajaj Chetak) looks enticing. Walking inside the living room, we see a stunning coffee table with a Yamaha RX 100 engine under it, whereas the old scooter has been turned into quirky seating. The pressure plate from the Maruti Swift car is repurposed as a clock.

What catches the eye is a chandelier crafted from a bicycle rim. There is a designated corner for all his prizes and accolades received for riding showing Kumar’s love and enthusiasm for vehicles.

There are lighting fixtures created out of Swift car’s shock absorber, lending the kitchen a unique accent. The dining table incorporates exposed nut bolts and spanners under a glass tabletop, adding a steampunk effect. There is a sink fixed inside an old tire with a petrol pump nozzle as a tap and a Mahindra steering wheel to hang towels.

To soften down the hardcore industrial element, the touch of green from plants brings nature indoors. Kumar’s bedroom is in the loft, accessible via a ladder. The bed features a headboard made from an old car hood. Mirrors are framed with bike tires.

The idea behind this project was to build and furnish Kumar’s dream home within a budget, as most of the items were already available at his workshop. His home is truly a sight to admire and speaks of his passion for recycling and meticulous craftsmanship.

Instagrammer Priyam Saraswat, who is known for showcasing such unique homes across India, shared this ingenious build on his Instagram page. And people can’t stop admiring this automobile home in Kerala.
